January 02, 2021

Travulous, a Destination Management Company located in Rwanda, today announces its tailor-made itineraries to some of the most sought-after safari locations on the African continent, including the Maasai Mara, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Mgahinga National Park and Volcanoes National Park, combining once-in-a-lifetime safari experiences with luxury properties located in some of the most breathtaking, remote and wild destinations in Africa.

Launched in 2019, Travulous prides itself in designing inspirational and unforgettable tailor-made itineraries that showcase the many highlights of East Africa. From ground transfers and accommodation arrangements to booking light aircraft and helicopters, Travulous meticulously manages all the necessary travel arrangements to ensure guests have an enjoyable and seamlessly organised trip. The company’s expert driver guides are passionate about providing guests with specialist behind-the-scenes insight into mountain gorilla and big five conservation, endangered wildlife sanctuaries, authentic educational experiences and the rich cultural heritage of East Africa.

Working in the region since 2003, Travulous is the creation of Kristin McGee and Richard Pfäffli. With over 20 years of experience in the travel, tourism and events industries, they have extensive experience of designing one-of-a-kind luxury travel experiences in East Africa, for both the travel trade and customers who book direct with us. Prior to launching Travulous, Richard worked for a number of leading travel companies. As Founder of Baobab Expeditions (awarded 'Best Adventure Travel Companies' by National Geographic and nominated 'Best Specialist Tour Operator' by the British Travel Awards), he designed specialist conservation-based travel itineraries to Africa and India in collaboration with the Born Free Foundation, the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, the Jane Goodall Institute, and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

The Founders are keen explorers and travel enthusiasts. In their quest to film some of their favourite properties in the leading East African wildlife destinations, Kristin and Richard are planning a number of road trips around Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda. These expeditions enable Kristin and Richard to see and experience more of East Africa while offering time and flexibility to visit as many top-class tented camps and lodges during a single visit. Visiting multiple properties enables them to directly compare and gain first-hand experience of the facilities and services offered, thereby providing superior destination knowledge to their guests. Travulous’ strength is local knowledge: from the best national parks, lodges and tented camps; to the most rewarding activities and authentic behind-the-scenes experiences. The company always works to ensure their suppliers fulfil all their service-level obligations, and as the local destination and logistics experts, Travulous are always there to help if something does not go according to plan.

Travulous takes great pride in creating authentic, immersive and memorable travel itineraries and off-the-beaten-path activities, executing every trip in East Africa to perfection.
